Cinemas around Winchester

Everyman Cinema - Winchester

Southgate St, Winchester SO23 9EG, UK – 0871 906 9060

This small cinema is fantastic, the staff are friendly and usually give a short introduction after the adverts. They also sell very nice snacks and pizza that will be brought to your seat, or sofa if you chose the premium option! There is plenty of leg room, enough for someone well over 6 foot to stretch out and the cinema is always very clean and lively. The tickets aren't more than average in price but the experience is always wonderful. I would definitely recommend the Everyman in Winchester!

This cinema was revamped a couple of years ago and prices subsequently increased. To my surprise I think it's worth every penny. Usually I find cinema visits a bit of an ordeal, too loud, too hot or cold, horribly uncomfortable and quite unwelcoming. It's an absolute pleasure to visit this small very comfortable venue. The seating is remarkably spacious, plenty of leg room for six footers and lovely sofa seats with small drinks tables. Enter through the bar area. Pleasant staff and no pressure to buy unnecessaries. I like it a lot and highly recommend a visit. Parking is a beast though.

Theatres for Winchester

Theatre Royal Winchester

Jewry St, Winchester SO23 8SB, UK – 01962 840440

Visited with my 3 year old daughter to see gruffalo child. I have never been here before and live in Norfolk but was in the area by chance. Lovely small theatre, great seating with good views throughout. Staff were all pleasant and helpful from the box office to getting seated. Would definitely recommend and would visit again if the opportunity arose.

Absolutely lovely theatre, the acoustics are brilliant not loud and ear splitting like in some places. The toilets were lovely and clean and the gift shop items were a fair price. They show things for all ages here. I'll be going again

Chesil Theatre

Chesil Street,, Winchester SO23 0HU, UK – 01962 867086

Fantastic theatre showcasing the best in amateur dramatics in Winchester. Some great productions coming this year and it's so nice to have raked seating. Just wish the seats themselves were a little more comfortable!

A special building, with an intimate performance space, presenting excellent plays to a very high standard

Hampshire Wardrobe

Hampshire Cultural Trust, Chilcomb Ln, Winchester SO23 8RB, UK – 01962 678199

Very helpful staff. Extremely organised, well maintained collection of costumes and accessories. One of Winchester's hidden gems.

Amazing place. Dresses from past ages. All sizes. Also for kids
